The Rumney Rumney Village Store is next door to the RVI and offers groceries, a deli, beer and wine, bakery items and local arts and crafts. So handy and a great deli! 


Sole Track Brewing, located just down the street at 27 Main Street, .8 miles from RVI. Tap room hours:

4-8 p.m. Thursday

4-9 p.m. on Friday 

12-9 p.m. on Saturday


Also close by is the North Station Diner, (menu), at 879 NH 25, Rumney, NH, 2.5 miles from RVI.


Edge of Town Tavern (American - menu). Located 28 NH 25, Plymouth NH, 4 miles from RVI.


The Last Chair Brewery restaurant (American - menu) and craft beer. Located at 5 NH 25, Plymouth NH, 4.2 miles from RVI. Popular.


Foster’s Boiler Room in nearby Plymouth offers American fare dining, one of the Common Man restaurants. Located at 231 Main Street in Plymouth, just off I-93 exit 26, 7.8 miles from RVI. 


Six Burner Bistro, one of our personal favorites! American fare. Located at 13 South Main Street in Plymouth, 8.4 miles from RVI. 


Yamas, a new Greek restaurant located at 61 main Street in Plymouth, 8.3 miles from RVI.


Another local favorite is Thai Smile located at 135 Main Street, Plymouth, NH, 8.2 miles from RVI. Dine in or to go - the food is great. 


The Italian Farmhouse is another well liked local restaurant, one of the Common Man eateries. Located at 337 Route 3 Plymouth, NH, about 10 miles from RVI.


Opening June 2, the Nourish Food Truck is located at Long View Farmstand at 175 Quincy Road, Plymouth, NH. Not your average food truck: enjoy international dishes that are amazing. 


The Long View Farmstand is open with early season hours (Friday - Sunday 10:00 am-4:00 pm), just 3.4 miles from RVI. If you’re into veggies, don’t miss the farmstand! See what’s in season here.

Groceries

For full service grocery stores there is Marketbasket and Hanafords on Tenney Mountain Highway in Plymouth, 6.5 miles from RVI.

Hiking

RVI is located at the western edge of the White Mountain National Forest, big and small hikes and everything in between. And locally, there are some great short hikes. 


A wonderful nature walk can be found at Quincy Bog Natural Area, (Map, Trail Guide) located 2.5 miles from the RVI.

Local Attractions

Polar Caves is a favorite for the kids, with 9 caves formed from the talas below Hawk’s Cliff. Located at 705 Rumney Rte 25,  Rumney, NH, 2.9 miles from RVI.


A bit further away is Sculptured Rocks, located at 251 Sculptured Rocks Road, Groton, NH, about 12 miles from RVI. 


Ripple Pottery offers locally crafted pottery and garden decor, located at 839 Rt 25 Rumney, NH, 2.7 miles from RVI.


Green Woodlands is a destination for the outdoor enthusiast. The Green Woodlands wilderness is a private wilderness open to the public by the Green Woodlands Foundation, a family organization. This is an expansive wilderness, with ~23,000 acres of land and eight ponds. There are extensive mountain bike trails (70 miles), ski trails (35 miles) and woods roads. In addition to biking and skiing, recreational uses include hiking, snowshoeing, horseback riding (50 miles), and snowmobiling (40 miles), hunting and fishing. Further away is Franconia Notch State Park (32 miles) and the Flume Gorge. If the weather is good, the drive through the park offers amazing views of Cannon Cliff and Franconia Ridge. These are some of the most dramatic views in the White Mountain National Forest. The Flume is pretty incredible in its own right and a destination in and of itself. Check out the links.
